NATHAN HIATT

I am a 27-year-old sports multimedia journalist, who graduated from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and then has recently graduated from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona.

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan, which was where I discovered my passion for sports and journalism. I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a B.S. in Sports Media with an Emphasis in Multimedia Journalism in May 2018, and I continued my education and graduated from Arizona State University with an M.A. in Sports Journalism in May 2020.

 

During my time in Stillwater and Tempe, I had the chance to work for multiple outlets, collegiate and professional. Throughout my time and experiences at Oklahoma State and Arizona State, and the industry within sports media, I have learned so much and gained valuable skills as I also continue to improve my strengths and try to eliminate my weaknesses. I have proudly become adept with my presence on social media. With what I have been exposed to with resources, equipment and experiences, I have acquired many skills, including working within high-pressure situations and deadlines, storytelling and interview techniques, photography and some videography and audio work, as well as design work.

With all my experiences, I have learned many valuable skills, honed in my craft and continue to improve in and navigate through the sports media realm. How I managed to navigate mid-semester through the COVID-19 pandemic, continued my hardwork and graduated from a celebrated journalism school and graduate program at Arizona State maybe the most notable and currently relevant experience. With all that, I have had successful start and foundation, but I have much more to learn, improve on and to accomplish.
